Honda Element cracked windshield lawsuit
Someone in our local MINI club found this on the web... seems like Element owners are experiencing the same windshield defect that many MINI owners have reported - but these people filed a class action lawsuit against Honda N.A.
They even dispute the pen test that many of us have experienced at the MINI dealer (including me!)...

As the owner of a 2003 Element, I've been through the windshield mess. Our first one cracked, and the second one was smashed when someone through a cobblestone through it. Luckily my insurance has a zero deductible on this kind of stuff, but if I was paying, I'd be pretty mad. Honda keeps saying that they have solved the problem, but it all comes down to cutting costs and weight.

Yes - a drunk guy in Winchester, Virginia decided to take some cobblestones that were stacked up for fixing a road in a cemetary and throw them into car windshieds. 30 of them. My Honda Element is being fixed now. Orginal estimate $1484, but they called this morning to say that they had found hidden damage, so it will be a few hundred more. Seems he dribbled it before taking the shot.
