A/C Not Cold After Only 3K Miles On the Odometer

14 Clubman S. 3,100 miles. Air is cool but not cold. Switching from outside air to recirculate makes it slightly cooler but not much. I believe MINI recommends using recirculate mode sparingly. Any ideas?

I don't have any idea and I wouldn't give a second thought to it. It's a warranty problem. Let the dealership worry about it.

I feel you man (14R55S)

I have the same problem and the dealer here in Arizona says to expect poor AC performance. I bought my 2016 Countryman about 20 days ago. During the test drive the auto AC did not blow cold so after I did all the purchase paperwork I left the car overnight at the dealership to make sure it was fixed. They called the next evening and said car is within specs. I drove my brand new car a few days in 80 deg weather and the AC blew 55-60 deg at the coldest. I brought it back to the dealer again for another day and same story. I then brought it to an third party AC specialist and they said it was leaking Freon and to bring it back to the dealer before they have another look. I then brought it to the dealer for a third time. Dealer now replaced the leaking expansion valve. No improvement in temps. Still can't get dash temps below 55 deg no matter what setting we try. I've spent so many hours researching and trips back and forth to the dealer. Less than 700 miles on the R60 Countryman. I can't deal with warm AC temps here in AZ. Its a cool 80 deg outside this week and the AC can't keep the Countryman comfortable. The worst part is the Service manager has told me three times that the AC in the countryman sucks and I will never be happy with it. He said that their dealership had to buy back two countryman's for this same problem in the past. He says its not a good car for our area!!!! I don't know how to proceed except to try to sell it back to them. Its completely frustrating. Can someone on this forum check the ambient temperature and vent temperature of your mini and post it? Every website online says we should be getting 40-48 deg out of the vents in fresh air mode if the outside temp is below 90 deg. 45 deg is exactly what I'm getting out of my Honda and Chevy vents during this 80 deg weather this week. I want to own this Countryman but I have given the dealer every opportunity to fix the AC and now I am told there is nothing more they can do. PLEASE... any advice anyone? Or does anyone want to buy a 2016 Countryman S from me with warm AC?

Photo above 2016 R60 Countryman Ambient temp 60 deg. Auto Air conditioning can only produce 55 degrees! Dealer cannot improve performance! Less than 20 days and 700 miles on car!

My 2 week old 2016 Countryman air conditioning isn't cold. Id love to know what vent temperatures to expect with this brand new car. Is anyone getting vent temps below 50deg?

Definitely take it to the dealer, but pay attention to which forum you are posting in - this one is for first generation cars (2002-2007 or so).

Yes, dealer would be the first place to take it as your vehicle is still covered under warranty. It seems that you and another person have dealt with this issue so be sure to report back and let us know what the dealer says. It may help someone in the future.

Dealer and see what they say. With the manual controls , you have to have the right wheel selected down all the way also with the snowflake button pressed.
