Drivetrain check light...
I've had my 09 R56 for a month now and love it, did a lot to it in the last 30 days (suspension wise) ie coilovers, chassis braces, end links. Only "power" mods I have done is secondary cat delete and resonator delete, few weeks ago I got the drivetrain light again (got one the day after I bought the mini and dealerships mechanic fixed it can't remember what it was) any way a few weeks ago I got it again during a canyon run and disconnected the batt for 15 mins re-connected it and it went away and didn't come back, so today I had my car "tuned" by Neuspeed and while doing a test pull after it was done its back on again. Only comes on during hard pulls I can go first to 3rd and it's fine but once I hit full boost in 4th it's on again. I keep clearing the code and trying different things like tightening the gas cap and checking sensors but it keeps turning back on so it looks like I will have to take it into the mechanic again and have it fixed I am 100mi away from going passed warranty so I have to do it. I have been doing a lot of research and I know this light can mean ANYTHING so I am just posting to keep you guys updated and maybe this can help somehow. I just hope it isn't tune related. If it is do you guys know if there is a way to tune it to just not have that light come on any more? (Prob a dumb question since that light is very important but just thought I would ask) thanks in advance!
Might be detecting too much boost, or something like that.
But you really do need to read the codes to see what might be causing the problem. Try to find a good BMW or MINI specialist near you; they should have the right equipment to read the MINI-specific codes. (The generic code readers most places have won't even see some of the codes thrown on a MINI.)
