2005 HID Ignitor melted, can I go aftermarket?

So I burned out an hid ignitor when I was trying to turn on my fog lights. (long story)

Anyway, a replacement ignitor and new bulb are stupid expensive, in the region of 500 bucks.

So, I was hoping to buy an aftermarket HID kit, but I can't seem to find a kit with the right wiring.

On my stock ignitor there is a small socket with three wires. All the kits seem to have just two wires.

Anyone done this conversion, or are you all rich and just go straight to the dealers? lol

Ok, so I spoke to an HID company here in Canada. I have ordered a replacement kit which means I don't have to buy new ignitors.

I will however need to splice into the factory wiring and keep a single wrie going into the original ignitor.

I'll know more when I get the kit and try installing.

Since no-one replied to my question, I'll do a photo install for future use, and hopefully help others who are confronted with this problem.

If you choose to go back to stock. Post up pic of the retrofit, hopefully it will work for you.

Thanks for the links. If only you had a place in Canada! lol

After shipping and customs and tax, it makes it painfull on the wallet, especially if I break it again or the other side goes.

But for those of you in the States, those are great prices.

I'll let you know how my install goes.
