Leaking...need input.

Hey guys...Don't know if this is normal or not, but lately my car has been leaking, what seems to be, water. This water seems to be dripping from some black plastic open-ended piece. Is this normal? Talked to a friend and they said it was just the AC. Thoughts on this. Is it something worth contacting a dealer about???

If it doesn't smell like antifreeze, your friend is right.

(When the A/C chills the air below its dew point, the moisture in the air condenses -- hence the dripping water.)

Is there such thing as it happening too often? I mean from what I've noticed it happens when I'm using the AC. But what if it happens when I'm not?

It can only happen when the conditions are right. Of course, there might be some trapped condensation (water) which might come out later -- when you move the car, for example.

Whenever air gets colder than the dew point, condensation occurs -- it's just physics. You can easily prove this to yourself... Take a glass of ice water outside and watch what happens to the outside of the glass. Then take a glass of hot water outside, and watch again...

Isn't science wonderful?

I rarely use AC on my MCS, but when I do, I too get condensation dripping
under the car after the drive. When I don't use the AC, there is no drip.
