Going to NC (and Dragon), so...
I am heading to Asheville next week. And I'll sneak over to the Dragon. What should I check on my car to make sure it's in good condition for the haul. My battery died a month or so ago on my 03 Cooper. So I am a little more cautious.
Thanks!
Thanks!
All you can really do is make sure all your fluid levels are topped off and your wheels are torqued correctly....in fact, take your torque wrench with you. Some people have experienced lugs loosening up after several runs on the dragon.
I'm overly cautious. I always carry spare oil, brakefluid, and tire with me, not to mention, a small tool kit, too.

Dragon advice
I've driven the Dragon numerous times. A couple of bits of advice.....weekdays have the fewest number of ahhhhh enthusiasts present....Also, always keep in mind that meeting an 18-wheeler is not out of the question. Although not common, thank God, I have seen 18-wheelers going in the opposite direction more than once. I have even stopped before entering a turn (Fortunately, I listened to a gut feeling) and waited for a very slow moving 18-wheeler drive onto the shoulder of the oncoming lane, in order to make a turn. That gives you an idea of how tight some of the turns are. Its soooo nice that the pavement surface is about as good as it gets and the banking adds to the fun. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself but be aware of what may be around the next blind turn. Also, check out the Cherohala Skyway from Robbinsville to Tellico Plains while you're in the area. The turns arent as intense but man is it ever scenic. Oh and if you do check out the Skyway, keep in mind that radar traps are not unheard of up there. I learned that the hard way :(
This will be my 3rd time on the Dragon. I’m going to venture over to Cherohola, too. You’ll have to excuse my lack of car knowledge. But how often should I have my tires rotated? I’ve had my 10,000 mile service. Can’t remember if they rotated them then.
Thanks.
Thanks.
OK, call me a novice but where is "the dragon". I just came back from Cashier's (SW of Ashville) down Route 64 and was having a blast in my MO-In-Law's Infinity. I can just imagine the drive in Bloo.
Yeah, I know. Shoulda-Coulda-Woulda. Couldn't fit 4 in Bloo w/ luggage for a 12 hour trip from Miami, esp. w/ a 250 lb Mo-In-Law that carries her own futon.
Anyway is the dragon 64?
