I replaced my map lights with LEDs and they were working perfectly fine. After I removed the trunk bulb, the LED won't come on anymore from the map and trunk. All the other LEDs work (glove box and boot). Also because of this, the airbag light comes on from the display and on my speedometer. Anyway to troubleshoot without going to a dealer? Nearest Mini dealer is 90 miles away.

Edit: Tested fuse, still works. Swapped out LEDs for original bulbs, still no light.

 

I'm having the EXACT same issue, except instead of replacing them with LEDs I removed the trunk and dome lights to remove the headliner. I didn't want either one flopping around so I left them out. It would be absolutely retarded if the friggin' trunk light being removed would trigger an airbag light and keep the map lights from working...

 

Mine was a fuse... I checked every fuse in the box with my fuse tester and they all tested fine. The tech took two minutes and swapped the right one but couldn't remember the number. Oh well, it's fixed. The airbag light was a fluke.
