Lock/unlock and flashing park lights

I really hesitate to post such a minor problem here, but hoping someone has a clue or a "fix" for my little problem. 2011 MCS, 35k miles. Using the keyfob, lock the car. Lights flash, and I hear the locks "lock". Would love to hear horn beep a bit at this point, but no biggie. Next morning, or even a bit later the same day, hit the unlock on my keyfob. First push seems to unlock the driver's door, with a flash from the park lights to confirm. Second push should unlock the passengers door, with another flash, but not always. Sometimes, I get two flashes when pushing unlock twice, but the pass door does not unlock. Sometimes, I get NO flashes, and the pass door does not unlock. Sometimes, I get two flashes and all is unlocked. This happens frequently, but apparently my local MINI dealer has not been able to replicate the situation. The battery in the car tests fine, and there are no other electrical issues with the car that I have found. This is such a random problem that I have no idea where to start! Has anyone else experienced this?

Same fob each time?

Did you try resetting or verifying the light functions using the BC menu?

I occasionally get the same random goofiness from my car (random BC items reset or don't work..)

I've heard/read that it's the fault of the fobs... But this does not make much sense to me..

I checked my BC menu, and everything seems to be as it should be. I will use my other keyfob this week and see what happens. Do the keyfobs charge when they are in the ignition port?

Some fobs charge, others like mine on the CM have a replacement battery. Check realoem.com

Looks like "Comfort Access" equipped cars have replaceable keyfob batteries, others are not replaceable, and charge thru the ignition port. Since I have to insert my key to start the car, and do not have auto-dim rear-view mirror or automatic wipers, I am pretty sure I do not have "Comfort Access". Also, I found the thread here which shows how to replace a "non-replaceable" keyfob battery. Very cool info!

Second keyfob producing the same results. Maybe I am hitting the botton twice too quickly? I will try pausing for a couple seconds between pushes on the unlock button. Maybe just another MINI quirk? Gotta love the personality of these fun little cars!

Well, I figured a way around it. Just set the BC to unlock both doors at the same time. Maybe it shouldn't have to be a work-around, but it does work apparently. No biggie, I guess. The foibles of owning a MINI. Still loving my little Green Rocket! Motoring On!
