Rubber Shift Boot! CHEAP. =]

My shift boot has more cracks in it than the Badlands. I wanted to change up the style and decided the rubber boot was the direction I wanted to go. After scouring the internet and only finding info on over priced and hard to find Audi TT and Hyundai Tiburon boots I decided to try to find an alternative. Luckily I stumbled upon this Mr. Gasket boot sold by Summit Racing. $25 shipped. =] I just ordered it and will post pics and a write up when it arrives. Based on the dimensions it should fit perfectly with minor modifications.

Let me know what you guys think!

A buddy & I searched long & hard for those Tiburon boots. Extinct. We both bit the bullet on OE TT 1s. They fit perfectly w/o any cutting. Love em.

That looks great, my only concern is the multiple creases to keep clean, but I really like the way it looks, nice MOD.

Motor on!

Thanks! Never really cleaned em yet. But being OCD, I've got a soft long bristled paint brush for that, though.

I found the same Mr. Gasket boot at the local O'Reilley's Auto Shop. $24.95. The 1650 is exactly the same boot with a larger, rectangular trim plate - that's the only difference.

Or this: http://koreanautoimports.com/2003-20...ar-shift-boot/ <--- Looks like they might be out of stock. I'll let you know when I hear back from them.

My Mr. gasket boot came in and looks like it will fit just fine. I'm just waiting on my short shifter to come in and then I will see how everything fits! I will post pics of the install once it's done. =)

I spoke with them. "In Stock" is a bit of a misnomer... It is in stock in Korea and can take up to 3 weeks to arrive...

Sorry about the late response. I finally got around to installing my short shifter. =] A little bit of a pain but nothing crazy.

The $20 rubber shift boot fits PERFECTLY! No cutting or modification required. The only thing that I don't like is that it is designed to lean one direction. So i have it leaning towards the back of the car. Either way it looks really nice and feels good while I shift. I would recommend it to anyone.
