This is really more at the front end of the bonnet rather than beneath the bonnet, but...

The auto leveling function on my left xenon has stopped functioning. The beam height stays fixed at the position where the right beam "jumps" to after the inital warm up.

I have an appointment Friday to get this fixed. The great thing about Schomp MINI is that I described the problem to the service writer, she consulted with a MINI service tech, and called me back to say I didn't need to make a special trip to get a diagnostic, they were going to just order the parts. Then we set up the service appointment. Very cool.

Anyhow, has anyone else had this problem?

I had the autoleveling problem fixed today. Actually the entire left headlight was replaced under warrenty. So everything works again as it should.

Don't even bring up the name of the prince of darkness around me. I am selling a 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 in order to buy my Mini.

I am well aware of Joseph Lucas and his well earned reputation.

Even still, I would like it if there were a few Lucas bits here and there under the bonnet.

Hi DaveDenver,

I know your headlight unit was replaced under warranty, but I am wondering:

1) What is invoice price of the headlight unit?
2) Did the mechanic tell you what the problem was with the old unit?

Thanks

The warrenty invoice didn't list the price of the headlight, and the problem was not disclosed to me. So I don't know what caused it, just that the headlight was replaced (it's noticably cleaner than the other one that has been in my MINI for 14000+ miles).
