Good aftanoon-

Quiet "post 4th" of July @ work. Just about everyone is out on vacation

Anyhoo, my MCS is around the 2,000MI mark (I was gone for all of June on business, and didn't drive at all over the 4th)... On the weekdays, and exspecially when I'm gone for work (3-4 weeks) my car will sit anywhere from 2 days to 4 weeks! In a well shielded car-port, but still outside. Weekdays I only make a few short drives, walk to work, weekends I drive mostly highway miles...

I've noticed, particularly when it's humid, that my car will have a sound from the rear-exhaust like it's got little backfires or is missing? This is only when it sits for more than 2 days, and does not happen 100% of the time (random)... The revs (according to the tach) are right on, but this still bothers me.

Any ideas???

 

are you talking about the freak-out idle, where the car idles, but just sounds like it's puking and barely responds to small throttle inputs?

 

Sortof- This idle only happens when the car has been sitting and is cold. Throttle inputs help a little bit, but it still does it.

The situation always goes away after about 30 seconds to 1 minute... My concern is, tho, when it get's really cold in the winter...
