engine oil cap probleme

I try to remove the oïl cap on the engine valve cover today to see that it is seize , I can turn it 1/4 of turn and it is loose but want came out. Is this common on this car? N14 engine with 78 000 kms mcs.

Does this engine have hydrolique lifter? I ear a strange noise at cold start like 10-20 sec ? maybe cam chain tensioner???

Its strange you cant get the oil filler cap off of the valve cover. Usually one is always adding oil! Maybe give it a good wiggle once its lose. To be honest I haven't heard of this problem before. But the noise you might be hearing on cold start ups is likely your timing chain rattling. More known as the "Death Rattle". That is something you want to keep a close watch on! Keep your oil full! What year is your MINI?

You want to check and see first if you already have the updated tensioner. The updated tensioner is just longer. Go to a MINI dealer and see if it is updated already. If its not then they should replace it for free. Hope this helps! Is your oil full?

The timing chain and timing chain tensioner are defective in most if not all 2007-2011 MCS, if the tensioner is the original one your entire timing chain, chain guides and chain tensioner will need to be replaced. That rattling sounds is the timing chain slapping around not properly tensioned by the tensioner, if this is the case your timing chain most probably is stretched needing replacement. Every member that has only had the tensioner replaced has had the rattling return in as little as 3000 miles where the chain is now stretched even further, once it starts stretching is continues to stretch. If the timing chain snaps or comes off the cam sprocket, you engine is toast!
