R55 CEL, No power, 2B64 & 2ACD

Just got a 2010 Clubman S with 85K on the clock. Bought it with CEL on. Car runs good, but is sluggish, and will not pull RPM to redline. Has codes 2B64 (intake manifold unmetered air) and 2ACD (O2 post cat, dynamic response in over run). Have looked it over, pulled airbox and looked for vacuum leaks, none found. Car has no mods. Called Orlando Mini and they said the 2010 does not have the timing chain recall (lack of power?) and I hate the thought of throwing a $300 valve cover on it just to 'see' if it fixes the 2B64 code. Pulled the valve cover this morning and chain seems tight, and inside of motor is spotless! I have access to a Snap On Verus scanner with Euro package but no Euro troubleshooter for Mini. Any ideas on what to look for before I take it to the Stealer for a $$$ visit?

Do you see any oil leaks? Can you get your hands on a smoke tester?? Do you hear any noises from valve cover after you shut off the car?

I'd guess at that mileage your the valves are pretty carboned up. Time for a walnut blasting. That will usually restore lost power.

No oil leaks. Engine is spotless. No noise (sucking/hissing) after shut-down. I had an assistant rev it to 3500-4000 and the upper engine does sound "rattle-ly". Any idea how to check timing marks on engine, or any other procedures to verify timing chain tensioner is bad, or chain is stretched? I called MINI dealer and was told the 2010 was not eligible for the revised chain/tensioner parts. The engine feels like timing is retarded but runs and idles good other than lack of power at WOT, CEL and rattle-ly sound at higher RPM.

Sounds like an intake leak. Start checking for any vacuum leaks. If you use the spray-starting-fluid-at-it method, make sure to have a fire extinguisher handy!!
