Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
I have my MINI in front end service mode to change my supercharger oil and install the kit from imperial MINI. While I have everything apart my crank position sensor o ring is leaking is there a special kind of o ring to get or will any kind work?
I'd go OEM if you've got that option, as it's just a few bucks. If time/distance doesn't allow, I suppose any 'engine duty' o-ring would work in a pinch.
It's not a huge deal to do it again, but if a sub-par ring blew out, it might make a mess.
Don't waste your money on a new o-ring, clean up the sensor and mating surface and lay a bead of RTV around the base of the sensor where it mates to the block. Leak permanently fixed.

It's actually funny you mention that I was planning to do that anyways. Which color gasket maker should I use?
Yup, zip over to the dealer and get it OEM (call first to check stock) Hey good for you. What serial number are they up to now? I have #17 (but not using it on this current engine build yet)
