My Cooper S is hitting 50K and i have had no end of problems with it. However, bit by bit they have been sorted. The only thing i cant seem to sort are the horrible noises of the interior.

Whenever i hit a bump, or cobble roads, or roads that aren't perfectly smooth the interior sounds like its going to fall to bits. The panels all squeak and rub together for a start.

The Door lock pins rattle to make a buzzing noise. Locked or unlocked. Put electrical tape around it to try and fix it, to no avail.

The rear left upper seat rocks about, it looks as though a plastic washer which sits into place has come out and i can't find a way to put that one back in without taking the seats out altogether.

There is a rattle coming from somewhere up top near the rear view mirror. Sounds like a marble is up there. Any ideas on what this could be?

It is doing my head in all this, have to have the music up really loud to avoid hearing them all the time. Anyone else getting annoyed with the shoddy interior? or have i just got a really bad example! :(

Ugh. Been over 5 times to get the dealership to fix it to no avail. Not saying it matters to anyone else, but, for this reason alone, this will be my last MINI.

 

MINIs are known to rattle. I have a couple in my dash that I can't get stopped. They are not constant but they are frequent. The others I had I tracked down and put felt tape on them.
