Auto Transmission Help

My wife drives an 06 MCS and says that once in a great while the auto trans (not CVT) will not want to shift. She pulls over, turns the car off, restarts, then everything is okay.
Any one have an idea what's up?
Thanks

Guessing one of the valves is sticking....
I would suggest changing the fluid....while mini thinks of these units as "sealed" regular fluid changes do extend their life....
Know that when asin units used on Toyota's (the units in mini's and VW's are a close cousins) misbehave....doing two fluid changes a few weeks apart often fixes many issues....

Thanks for the suggestion but my valve body is newly rebuilt and the fluid is less than six months old and had been flushed several times previously.
I'm probably going to call the rebuilder and ask them if they have any idea what's up.
