Hey guys. I need some help figuring out how to make this annoyingness go away.

Could be the steering shaft joints or the shock mounts (bearing in the mount). If you can get someone to turn the steering wheel while the hood is open, you can put your hand on the tower and see if you feel it grinding. If not, inspect the colum under the dash if you see anything that rubs.

 

get your head down near the pedals ... the click may be comin from the universal joint that is down here on the steering column ... it has some plastic/nylon bushings just inside of the firewall . . . just b4 it goes thru to the engine compartment


the column of my 2002 was replaced under warranty when it made a similar sound ... if your sound comes from here look for a burr and or possibly try a little grease.

Mine is also doing it (2006 R52). However, the replacement part has been on backorder worldwide for months.

 

found out, when it's hot out it doesn't make the noise, when it's cooler it does.
