Rough idle in traffic

2012 S, just over 18k. Purchased at 13k. Car runs fine normally, throws no CELs at any time, gets about 32 mpg in mixed driving without babying it. When sitting in stop and go traffic, though, the car idles extremely rough - feels like someone shaking the car. The longer you sit in traffic the worse it gets.

The only other, likely unrelated problem I have is that the AC blower speed dips dramatically when taking off from a stop a lot of the time (not fast, not lugging - it's abnormally bad). Last time it was in the dealer diagnosed this as a bad battery and replaced it under warranty, but it's still occurring. Pulled up the hidden menu and drove with the voltage displayed a few times and it seems solid at just over 14v typical, occasionally dipping to around 13.8 under load.

Have done some searching and if the mileage wasn't so low I'd guess from the what I've read that this might be carbon build up, but it's only at 18k...

Thoughts?

i've spent weeks trying to sort out a bad idle at lights on a non S justa, nightmare......Could be loads of things apart from the carbon buildup ,timing off, high pressure fuel pump, bad coils, cam sensors, etc stick it on a diagnostic computer and see what codes are showing quickest way to figure it out.....

Hmmmm just thinking this is starting to become a common issue with four similar cases on here in as many weeks with a bad idle/shaking be worth watching the outcomes of all the cases,i think mine is timing related

The car is still under warranty. As long as you can reliably reproduce the problem, show it to the dealer, and let them trouble-shoot it. If the first one can't figure it out, take it to the next one (there's got to be more than 2 in Houston).

Far too many things can be wrong to produce these symptoms, from air leaks, to fuel supply issues, to spark issues, to DME sensor inputs that mix the fuel+air+spark to keep the engine running. Summer heat + AC load are also in the mix.

The only thing I would not worry about just yet is carbon build up, with only 18K miles on an N18 engine. It's too early for that (I hope).
