CV Axle

Ok so here is my question.
Has anyone found a way to use the clamps that come in a boot kit without having to buy the specialty tool to tighten it?
Question two
I went to replace the inner boot and when I took the bearing out I dropped them and well they are bearings no more. So I bought a new axle should I replace the whole thing or just the half shaft?

What do you do when you can not get the part of the shaft that goes into the transmission out?

I'm confused - you bought a new axel or not? If you bought one why wouldn't you replace the entire axle?

Cleaning the bearings after dropping (I assume) in the dirt should not be that big a deal to clean.

Drive a pry bar between the transmission and axle.

Yes I bought a new axle but I was going to try to just leave the half shaft piece in the transmission in. An replace the outer only but I'm gonna have to do the whole axle so I answered my own question there.

My whole issue now is I can't we the inner axle out of the transmission!

Tried that and nothing moved a little by that was it.

Does anyone know how I can hunt down the shaft support bracket for the CV axle on the right side?
