Hi folks i'm trying to locate the crankshaft sensor on a 2007 R56 cooper non s as im having misfire problems......does anybody know where its located and how big of job it is ,looks like a gearbox off job according to photos on real oem this couldnt be correct could it ?

 

an update for anyone else doing this its located on the upper bell housing where the engine joins the box,close to the driveshafts,best way to do it is on a ramp from underneath with a good light,theres a silver plastic cover that has to be removed and a single bolt torx holding it in.
