Broken front sway bar

Hey, My wife just had my '13 Roadster S serviced in Omaha, NE to fix a leaky oil solenoid and they said the tech almost missed it(maybe hard to spot?) but our front sway bar was broken. It has right around 20K miles. They said they hadn't seen this before and fixed it under warranty. I searched the forums and didn't see anything like this. Found some mystery clunks coming from front end, but no broken front sway bars(unless that's the mystery clunk).

The car hasn't been driven too hard in my opinion, and I don't track it or anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a good aftermarket beefier one out there to replace it?

I wouldn't go with an aftermarket one cause you'll create some issues if you haven't upgraded your rear sway bar. You'll be fine with the replaced stock front one. I'd recommend swapping your front and rear stock endlinks to Detroit Tuned ones as you'll get clunking sounds eventually from those crappy little things.

Good luck!

Well if I'd be fine with the stock front one, I wouldn't have broken the stock front one in less than 20K miles. Unless it was actually defective which would be an odd part to be defective. I guess I'll stick with it and if it goes again going to be looking for better front/rear sway bars.

Almost a certainty that it was defective. They are dang hard to break even when driven hard.

Are you sure that it was the front sway bar itself and not the end links that failed? The end links are known to fail.
