2014 clubman oil leak

I now have 2000 miles on my 2014 clubman, which I bought in early March. Yesterday, I decided to have a look under the engine, just to check on things. I was very disappointed to see a dollop of an oily substance adhering to the bottom of the manual transmission. I suspect it is coming from what may be a compromised drivers side axle seal.
I will be calling the dealer tomorrow.

Don't get too upset. I had the same thing, depends how fresh it it.. Mine was residue from the cosmoline on the engine..

If it's wet enough to leave a mark on your finger, have it looked at. If not, it's not a big deal.. But keep an eye on it.

Do you see oil running down the transmission casing or is it coming out of the two breather holes at the bottom of transmission casing?

Sorry to hear of troubles especially on a NEW Mini!

As it turns out, I brought the car to the dealer, and my suspicion was correct. There is a leak at the drivers side axle seal. The car is still with them. The repair will be covered by the warranty, of course.
My concern now is that, I do not know how much oil leaked out, and if the car will now be prone to a premature transmission failure. Ugh.
It is a good thing I inspected it, that is for sure.

There seems to be a rash of cars with over filled transaxles or failed axle seals/axles of late..
