2006 Mini Cooper s valve body replacement problems
Did you screw a $5 oil pressure gauge in test port and verify if you have an actual internal pressure issue. ECM's are easily fooled by an over zealous sensor.
Torque pattern is critical installing a valve body to avoid vb twist and inevitable seepage
The thermal connection you describe seems to point to this probability..
Just a shot in the dark..
tow it to my shop, I will fix it

Now I'd love to do that but I'm quite a ways away. Now where is the test port located?? I know it's been a while but it still does the same thing. It hasn't gone into ep mode but it still is rather clunky. I've had the tranny fluid drained and filled multiple times since then and still clunky.
Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same setup as you do, 06 MCS with the revmax valve body replaced.
I'm having the same codes as you are on a generic scanner. But when I use my more advanced scanner it pops up a more in depth description on the 0700 code instead of just "transmission fault".
0700 Aisin TCU obd relevant fault.
I'm thinking the TCU/TCM (transmission control unit/module) is bad, and that controls the solenoids to shift.
Another thing that's happening with my car is the shift indicator on the plate next to the shift know only lights up N and D, all other positions don't like up. And SD doesn't work when I move the shifter over. However the shifter paddles do allow me to shift gears.

I'm having the same exact issue. Same code on the OBDII scanner. When run through ISTA+, it gives me an 000700 (DME: AISIN TCU OBD relevant fault) and a 002921 (EGS: Electronic pressure control valve SLC1). I also ran Function/State information using ISTA+ and it gave me mA readings for every Solenoid but SLC1, which had 0.00mA. (all the rest had readings like 990mA, 100mA, 1,000mA, and 200mA). I'm hoping my problem is just a bad SLC1 solenoid. I'm currently stuck in 5th gear as well. I had reset the adaptations with ISTA+ and the trouble all happened on my first time out, in just a couple minutes.
Hey try replacing your Transmission computer module
Alright so back a little while and it was found to be a faulty solenoid. Replaced the solenoid bought an entire new set of trans fluid and put it all back together, getting pretty good as this is my third time, less than two hours! Okay well my problem arises again, drove WONDERFULLY after getting it all together. Went out the following day while the weather was about 30 degrees and had a rough time getting into to reverse. Got into drive and voila! Back into fifth gear stuck and throwing codes po700 and po970 again!
