SRS light.
SRS light.
Is there a way the SRS light can be checked without going to the stealership or buying a special SRS reader?
My SRS light tripped last month and my inspection is due this month! So... Any advance would be great. Oh and the pass seat pad is working properly with the on/off SRS light on rear view mirror.

The generic readers won't do it. You need a professional grade scan tool or BMW based tool.
Saw the Peake ones on a couple websites, it's a small round scanner, I believe they sell one for the engine, one for abs and another one for airbag, haven't tried them. I've bought a Mac Tools Launch scanner (300$), it does pretty much everything from engine, abs, airbag, trans and comes with pretty much all major car companies updates (even some makes that aren't sold here in North America).
Yes Peake makes one, but it just gives you a generic number code which doesn't always match up.
We recommend this for the home user as it is affordable, but will read airbag codes, and a whole bunch more.
