My 2002 Mini has developed a resonant whine from 50 to 70 mph.
Idont think it is the tires (toyo with 7500 miles) car has 32000 miles.
I wonder if anyone else hears this in theirs.

The first thing I would check is the bearings at each hub. Also, A fellow local club member with a 5spd MC changed his tranny oil and things got better.

Is it always at a certain mph? or RPM? If it is the same MPH in two different gears I would check tires, bearings, CV joints.

yep, more info needed:

in any specific gear, or in all gears?

at particular speeds, or at any speed?

under load, or no load (such as coasting or decelerating)?

can you reproduce this while stationary by only revving engine?

Does it only happen with AC on, or does AC have no effect?

Does the whine appear to come from tires/wheels, and if so front, rear, either?

Does the whine appear to come from engine bay?
