Hi , my 02 mcs overheats when I have the ac on and come to a traffic light . What actually happens is , it blows the 5amp fuse for the rad fan and then starts overheating .

I noticed it doesn't seem to do it for longer highway runs . If I'm cruising on the highway I can have the ac on all day and no problem . If I turn the ac off just b4 I get off the highway it also seems to be fine once stopped at a light .if I leave it on after coming off the highway it blows the fuse and then starts overheating .

I kinda thinking the ac compressor might not turn smoothly or easily thus putting a lot of load on the circuit at idle and blowing the fuse ? I suck with electrical anything so it's just a theory .

Any thoughts on what this might be ?

The ps fan..on the underside of the car is jammed...this blows the fuse...when it blows, the radiator fan is disabled due to the wiring (was changed on 2005+ PRODUCTION CARS) and some cars that got modified wiring harness under a repair campaign....
The ps fan turns on after about 20 seconds of the AC being on...and "when needed".
Changing the ps fan is VERY easy....about a 15 job max....a couple screws and a plug.
