Does anyone have a DIY guide, or a photo of where the A/C blower motor resistor for a IHKA version of the A/C system on a 2002 Mini Cooper is mounted at on the car? There are 2 different A/C systems. The diagram in www.realoem.com that shows the A/C & Heater unit with the 2 different resistors in the area they (SUPPOSEDLY) are mounted has 1000's of photos across the web showing where the resistor for the IHKS version mounts. But the IHKA <-------- VERSION, a mini with the optional Auto Air feature on it. That resistor does not mount in the location that it shows in the realoem diagram. And where exactly it does mount is a Mystery. I have the latest Bentley service manual and in it the area that talks about removing it just shows a isolated photo of the correct resistor, hanging by the electrical connector. It gives you no clue of where it mounts on the car. Its not the resistor up by the radiator.

 

According to my TIS manual and realoem.com, they ARE mounted in the same spot.

Yea, i am going to edit it and add the www.realOEM.com Diagram that shows the resistor mounting at the bottom right footwell behind the center console.
There are 2 A/C systems.The IHKS which is where that model of the resistor that you indicated does mount on that version.

I will edit it, it should have been a bit more detailed saying, The diagram that shows the A/C & Heater Unit posted at www.RealOEM.com Doesn't show the IHKA version.
I would sure like to see someone come up with the correct answer, I have determined that I will have that damn car taken so apart it will be in buckets if I have to, but I will get to that damn resistor. I'd sure like to have a guide on taking it apart to access that resistor correctly.
