Just out of curiosity why do you need to know the thread pitch on the oil drain plug?

he plans on building a flame thrower which is fueled by oil drain off... that or an oil slick device ala spy hunter. just a guess, albeit a lousy one.

while the thought of draining my crankcase while flying down the road (apparently while being prusued by some unnamed villinous mafia) does have its appeal...

what I really wanted to know is if the pre-tapped oil temp sender that some guy was selling on ebay would fit the mini. Although I have read many opinions that suggest that measuring oil temp at the drain plug isnt the best way to go, having a plug-n-play set-up outweighs the potential inaccuracy for me.

fair enough?

no prob. If anyone is interested a quick search for

temp drain plug

revealed the item. It was designed for other cars (porshe and lotus if I remember correctly) which is why I needed to know if it would fit in the mini. The seller seemed pretty interested to know the results of my investigation as well so you might see him advertise for the mini in the future.

cheers
