Does your fuel pump constantly cycle?
Just got back from the dealer for my 2nd inspection and had software 37.1 loaded. Something new is happening now and I'd like to know if its normal. The fuel pump turns on for about 2 seconds ever 10-15 seconds. This happens with the key in the on position (cycles start after the initial fuel pump priming) and when the car is running. So those with 37.1 - is this normal? the dealer says that they THINK it is but are not sure. Thanks - Tom

Maybe I should be more specific. Would a fellow MCS motorer with v.37 please do the following.
1) turn your key to the on position
2) let the fuel pump and all the other accessories power up then sit there for 30 seconds and listen.
Do you hear the fuel pump turning on & off? every 10-15 seconds mine turns on for 1-2 seconds and this continues for as long as I sit there. Also happens when the car is running.
Thanks

I had my first scheduled maintenance about two weeks ago during which time they also programmed the ECU with the latest software. Although the work order does not mention what number the software upgrade it was it does state the upgrade was with the 'latest version available'. I had this done to help improve the famed 'hesitation', which in fact it totally eliminated it so I was very pleased. However, I just went into the garage to check on the fuel pump question you had and I do not experience the same noise you mentioned.
