Apparently, PPG windshield glass doesn't exist for the Mini Cooper S (2004). This comes from 89 Glass, a huge nationwide glass distributor. If any of you all have PPG installed, please elaborate on where I might get PPG. All I got was the same MINI OEM piece.

Here is what is printed on my PPG windscreen for my MCS

PPG
Solex Duplate
Laminated Safety Plate
AS1 4 1
3 1 8
DOT 18 M413
FW2304

Quite positive it does exist regardless of what a parts guy at a huge glass distributor says since it is installed on my MCS. . . .

My best guess is that "FW2304" is the PPG part number

Don't have as much info as Yucca, but my 2004 MCS has the PPG glass as well. In fact, I've had 3 windshields from PPG in my MCS. Long story, but basically the first 2 were defective when the installer showed up to do the install.

Done by Safelite Autoglass Repair.

If you have the rain sensing wipers, there is no PPG equivalent. Otherwise as others have said, there is an alternative which some people report as being less likely to fail.
However a lot depends on the quality of fitting! I imagine a badly installed PPG will fail long before a well installed OEM glass so be confident with the installer whoever they are.

Got the beautiful PPG glass finally. Puzzled that other glass places here in D-town didn't know it existed.

Of note: while installing the new windshield, the new glass guys noticed that the previous replacement "technician" broke the bottom chrome molding mounts and tried to glue it back on, causing a tough removal this time around and a seriously bent up chrome strip. And this not-so-careful "technician" was contracted my MINI to do their official replacements. Amazing...
