Excellent...you need to do a 100K report with all of your impressions and experiences. I'm sure we'd all find it valuable and something to look forward to.

Yes it is an 02 "S" I picked up on 7/29/02. We have already taken it out from here in Fla to Pikes Peak and straight up and around to Glacier National Park and back thru the Bad Lands. There is nothing better than our own United States for motoring vacations. IMO

Have you had any issues with it? How's the powertrain and tranny holding up?

The only major thing I have done is to have the belt tensioner and idler pulleys replaced. When I had the pulley (15%) reduction done at 35k I should have had the smaller belt probably placed on. On this car I have the short shifter, Magmaflow exhaust, Alta intake, HR springs, rear sway bar, ECU done buy Renntech. Plus other little odds and ends. Would I buy another one? OH YEA! I like what's coming out in 05.

Congrats, Doug! I could not agree with you more: there is nothing better than the USA for cross-country trips. I'm having a great time experiencing it all again this year.

It seems you are the only one with the highest mile MCS in the country.

BTW, what do you do for a living?

I also agree that the USA offers excellent road trip opportunities.

My brother and I own a small business that has been supplying epoxy materials to the construction industries and home owners for 47 years. I take a month or so off every year to explore our country.

Just for kicks you ought to write up something when you're a little closer to 100K and submit it to some of the automotive magazines. They may want to do a road review on it.

Great motoring!!!

I have been thinking just that. I will need the help of the little lady to help write and proof read the article. I might just write this as I travel out West and back this June.

90k? Congrats. Glad to hear yours is holding up. I've got 43k miles in 19 months. I look forward to your write-up. You must have had more parts go than that - I've had lots more stuff replaced and only have half the mileage!

Not really. I did have a recurring airbag light problem that was fixed after it came back on 3 times. Other than that nothing. This has been a great car for me.

Have you had any warranty issues with the car? Are the belt tensioner and idler pulleys the only repairs you've done to date?

Congrats on your 1/10 of a million miles

Having been around the bend more than a few times in my life time, I have come to the conclusion that the world is an awesome place (OK, except for maybe Belize City in British Honduras) EVERYWHERE. The great and wonderful thing about this country is that you can see sooooooo much of it from a decent road......and stop at a decent place, and have electricity....and good lodgings and food.....and on and on....yes there are places in the US that are awesome, so there are in Timbuktu......and the Scheychelles........ convenience, paved roads, one language, and truly caring people......not everywhere, not everywhere at all.....

I agree. I'm an island boy - born and raised in Hawaii.

Did the military thing.
Went to college.

When I graduated I loaded up the car and drove from Everett, WA. to Las Vegas! For an island boy this was indeed a treat. There's soooo much road out there - and the sights!!!

I then packed up (with a buddy who met me out there) and drove to New Orleans for Mardis Gras! Partied there for a couple of days then drove to my new home - Lexington Park, Md. - I got home on a Sunday morning (been on the road for 10 days) and had to start work that Monday @ 7am... LOL...

I had the best time of my life on that trip!

90k is awesome. I'm at half that with an '02 Cooper. The wife and I are heading out to Colorado in July and then through Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon and then to Vegas and back to MN.

That's great that you've had no issues with your car. Did you get an extended warranty at all? If so, to how many miles? Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for said warranty, if applicable?
