secondart air pump fault code. were is the secondary air pump?

secondart air pump fault code. were is the secondary air pump?

Hello. Ive wiped the faults from the ecu and this code,p1477 keeps logging. Ive also got a.strange popping noise comming from the engine. I read the socondary air pump can make that sound and that follows what the fault is saying
Iv searched forum and didnt find what i was looking for, i need to know were this secondary air pump is located

You can search all you want, but you won't find a secondary air pump on your car. It doesn't have one.

Awesome. Why the fault code then? Can this code apply to somthing else?

There is an air pump on Minis, it's the pump used to pressurized the tank to check for leaks in the evap system. Number 3 in the pic:

I don't know about others, but I can hear mine when it's running (rear seat delete probably helps a bit)

I think you are talking about the leak diagnose pump located by the fuel tank.

There is a version for pre 7/2004 production

Here is a link , others have found leaks in the line up in front of the engine , its model specific to the breather line up near the engine bay on top of the engine. I don't know your model or year as you did not state it. But I know you are a Gen 1 MINI.

Maybe someone can help me. I had a mechanic tell me I am missing a hose on my secondary air pump. He said the pump was under the turbo and you could see it from under the car... What is there and where would the hose lead?
