Another issue

This sounds CV related, but thought Id double check.

The sound resembles that of a flat tire when going around curves, or turning at higher speeds. Only on the front driver side. I checked the CV boots and saw no leaking. Wheel bearings tend to make a grinding sound more than anything, but I havent ruled that out yet. Tires are fairly new.

Suggestions? What should I look for?

 

Typically a bad CV causes a rapid clicking sound under power on corners (outer) or a harsh vibration under power (inner).

I'd first rotate the tires and see if the noise moves with the tire or stays at that corner before guessing any further.

Look at the tires for bulges (slipped belts).. Or road damage (bubbles, gashes.. Etc..).

Check for debris stuck between the rotors and the dust shield as well.

 

Its a smooth ride and no clicking. Just a thud, like a flat tire.

I'll rotate the tires and see if that fixes it. I cant see any wrong with the tire itself. My other thought was the rotor itself. The car is new to us, so Im still compiling a list of issues and working through them.
