leaky turbo line alternatives?

I have leaky turbo in line. Unfortunately I dont have the time or the money at the moment to fix it. All the forums I have been reading say just to replace it but is there a reason why no ones patched with like a cold weld or rtv or something; is that even possible?

I guess you could give it a try. Wouldn't be pretty but it may work.

The source of the leaks in the lines are failing rubber o-rings inside the coupling. I'm not even sure how one would go about trying to fix that. Considering replacement lines run between $50 and $100, most folks probably see it as cheaper to replace rather than repair.

Neither will last under oil pressure.

Just to save an attempt and time, but do you know an approximate pressure. J&b cold weld has pressure up to 3960 PSI.

Do you know it won't stick to oil?

Do you know what happens when a fragment breaks off and gets lodged inside the bearing at 100,000 rpm?

I've seen my fair share of JB Weld hacks.. I've also seen people ruin things because they thought it could fix everything.

Fair enough. I just wanted to explore all my options first.

jcauseyfd has a good point. It's a relatively cheap fix from a parts standpoint. If you take a weekend to make a DIY out of the job you could save a lot of money.

Scratching my head on this. Are you referring to the Oil lines on you turbo? Or the coolant lines? or neither?

You don't say in your post. I think that is what you meant but you left out what type of line.

Replacing the lines isn't too difficult and they are relatively inexpensive.

Now if you pay a dealer to do it then it is quite a bit more.

We have a great stainless oil line kit you can use. I'd be careful about letting that oil run over the cat and potentially catch fire.

I was indeed referring to the turbo oil feed line.
And I will be replacing the line as no other option.
