Hi All,

Recently had a thermostat changed on my late 2007 MCS after starting problems and a HPFP swap. To my mind, the car is now running hotter, stage 2 fan is coming on more often and my bonnet stripes have started to discolour, melt and crack :( BMW did look at the car for me again at my request and benched it against another same age car and said all is in order and have put something on the record to say so too, but it doesn't behave the same way it used to.

I have read about possible 'faulty' or badly matched thermo's. The one BMW fitted is 11537534521, the same as is listed on RealOEM. Does anyone know of other part numbers that might not have this miss-match/fault? is it only certain serial numbers? Would a non original part have the same issue?

There's a lot of threads about MCS owners having similar problems to this and after a number of visits back to the dealer and multiple thermostats, the problem finally goes away. I wondered if anyone had got to the bottom of it.
