I hear you, Jandreu, but after driving my MINI to and from work today on my 50 mile back country road commute, all is well again with me and my Clubman. These cars are truly a blast to drive and look great too! Some things in life just are worth the expense I guess. All I know is that I am once again looking forward to my daily commute...not something that I could ever say when I was driving my old Toyota Sienna minivan each day to work.

 

Same issues here. DSC and ABS lights on, wipers run by themselves when the car is in the first position on the ignition, no hill start assistance etc

For me it was the SZL sensor, since i am a cheap bastard i did a little research and found that they made a repair kin for the e60 5 series and the lens fits in the r56. the procedure is similar to this for the e60:

the repair kit is available at dealerships although you may have a hard time finding someone who knows what you are talking about. In my case 40 bucks beat a few hundred for a new szl sensor plus they need to be coded so its not exactly a DIY proposition

anyway, for future reference and anyone who stumbles across this with similar problems, if you have a few hours to kill and don't worry about messing things up too bad give it a shot
