Extended Maintenance Plan Stipulation & Erroneous Diagnosis

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and what steps you to took to rectify the matters.

So I take my Camden 50 in for "routine" 60K Oil service (mind you at my visit prior to this my Repair Warranty was still valid.

Upon having my oil changed the Dealer discovered that I had an oil leak, and a water seal leak to the tune of $980.00 Dollars.

I challenged the diagnosis because I can litterally eat off my garage floor and my driveway......meaning, no oil on the floor and no water???

Then I am called 3 days later and informed that since I declined the work I would be voiding the maintenance plan that I overpayed $1900.00 on.

Now that I need new brake pads I am told that there could be a possible relation to the the oil leak and pad wear (pads are in the rear)

Do any of you guys know of anyone else having similar BS going on with our "Trusted Dealers"

Thx

Well did they say where the oil leak was? Or the water or coolant leaks were... Anytime a dealership tells me that I always say...show me whats leaking ! That puts them on the spot!!

Follow up - On this issue Mini USA stood behind the statement that "if I don't proceed forward with necessary recommendations that my Ext. Maint. Plan could be voided." The problem is they can't prove this in writing. So I call the Unnamed Dealers Service Manager and he admits that the information I was given was inaccurate.

I went to have service and this time as suggested by Zippy asked them to show me the water and oil leaking. I went to the bay under my car and there's no leak just a film of old oil around 1/2" around the tensioner seal. Almost like if someone put their finger in oil and then smeared it around the spot of where that tensioner seal is!!! Coolant leaks? Perhaps months ago but it's all dry and a tiny hint of what looks like water calcium deposits.

Hmmmmm....maybe it's my skepticism???
