Metal rattle when engaging clutch from stop?
For the past couple months I have been hearing a rattle when engaging the clutch from a stop. It doesn't happen every time. It only happens if I lightly engage the clutch and gently accelerate from a stop. If I drop the clutch quickly and accelerate hard I do not hear it.
I thought at first it could be the hydraulic engine mount but I have replaced that since this rattle problem started.
I am having trouble pinpointing where the rattle is coming from. Sometimes I will also hear it when idling.
The noise itself is a fairly loud, deep, metal rattle.
Anyone have any ideas?

sounds like a bearing or fork issue.. start saving for a clutch now.
*Mine went from 'just fine' -> 'noise' -> 'doesnt engage at all' in span of 4 days.
If you hear it at idle, without any input on the pedal -> its likely the throwout bearing.. and when it goes, its going to fart grease all over the clutch assembly and make the pedal feel sticky or hard.. thats when you know youre on the final "straw".
You can pickup a beefy TO bearing from OS Geiken.. but at this point you will most likely need to replace the whole clutch assembly. If there is no chatter or vibration on downshift.. the flywheel may be salvaged ..but you wont know until its torndown for inspection.
