see Title...askes it all, anyone have an a/c inop, no compressor cycle at all...

More information would be helpful... Have you checked the coolant pressure? Might need to be charged. Low pressure and the compressor will shutdown to keep it from being damaged.

get into a shop....most likey needs a recharge of 134A.
Can be DIY'd, BUT can also mess stuff up...you are just guessing how much oil is getting added with the DIY kits, too much can mess stuff up....as can the additives that many companies add to the kits..like moisture removers, leak stoppers, and "turbo" cool accelerators, etc.....

Also, not "just a recharge", someone needs to find the leak(s). Refrigeration system charging fluids don't go bad; seals and other components leak. You can have a mech recharge it, but the problem will come back as long as the leak(s) aren't fixed.

Does the clutch engage, or does it just not blow cold? In my case the low speed fan resistor died, which lead to the compressor dying. Not a terrible DIY, at about 1/4 the cost of a shop.
