Clock keeps resetting!

Hey There,

At first my Trip counter and clock would always reset, and my radio would always default to AUX, but remember my channels.

I replaced the battery in the car and it seems the radio and trip counter work fine by the clock keeps resetting!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Either the new battery is also bad, or you need to do a complete charge on the battery. Do you drive long enough to charge the battery?

Even though most people seem to have no problem not registering the battery change in the computer, you may need to.

Or there could be some other electrical issue causing a drain.

Battery change was the best place to start! Try a good battery charger on overnight if you can, first.

R56 and newer platforms must have battery replacements registered in the car. Especially if the car is equipped with an IBS. If not, the car will keep attempting to "save" the battery by shutting down unnecessary consumers. The car will have had undervoltage faults set in control modules and the car will assume the vehicle is having voltage supply issues until it is told otherwise. (long story short) Just a battery right...? Unfortnately, no.
