Fixed: Rattle - center dashboard

Just wanted to post some pics that may be helpful to others with a similar problem.

I have an '04 that would rattle noisily whenever driving over significant bumps.
The sound would eminate from the center dash, very close to the windsheild. If i pressed down on the dash it would quiet it, but that was certainly a temporary fix.

The culprit was a small, white plastic clip that holds the dash (huge molded peice of plastic) to the frame (small metal loop).

I ended up taking off all the 'easy release' pannels, the A frame covers, the center console bits, and the huge peice of molded plastic to get to it.

In the end, it was a bit labor intensive, but a very low-tech solution: I wrapped a piece of a paper towel around the clip and put it back. It's been much much quieter on my drives.

You may be able to get away with getting to the clip without taking off everything, but I also reccomend that if you're going to do this, take the time to detail clean all the parts. I was very happy I did, and so was "Greycie"

Holy moley, that last picture just for a rattle?
Reminds me of stories of bears tearing apart trailers just to get to one dead mouse in the wall lol.

I had a lot of free time and, as mentioned, I took apart a lot of other things to detail clean EVERYTHING
