HELP! My R56 Cooper non-S coolant leak.

Hi all,

My R56 Mini Cooper start leaking coolant near one corner end of the oil pan and dripping under the exhaust manifold. The exact location is the center of the engine where the exhaust manifold area is. I read lots of threads in the forum, and most of the owner mention it is leaking thermostat housing. I bought and replaced the thermostat unit. After all, it is still leaking in the same spot. If anyone experiencing the same problem, PLEASE PLEASE give me an advice. BTW, I took the car back to dealer for water pump replacement due to leak at the very first place. After 3 weeks, my current coolant leak started.

Is there anyway to file a small claim against the dealership or have legal action against Mini USA? My car never get fix from dealership and I feel so pissed.

For what? IF you did the install, maybe you did it wrong and the housing is not sealing properly.
Here is a link that might help.

Did you replace the housing at the same time? If not that could be the issue. If you did maybe you did not get a complete seal.

I bought the thermostat unit from Parts.com. It came with new gasket and all sensors.

I double check on all hoses for the thermostat housing. They are all secured and no leaks, what would be the problem if it's not the thermostat housing? Please advice!

Is the car hot and running when you checked it? IF not do that. Did you check in the expansion tank for oil or in the oil for coolant?

I found out that the problem is worn out gaskets from the inside of Oil Filter housing.
