New window regulator need help
New window regulator need help
Ok, so my passenger window fell the other day so I got a new regulator, my dang bolts stripped that hold the window to the regulator. I yanked the window, and regulator assembly straight out of the door, had to disconnect the motor, and pry a little though.
Anyway, my new regulator has a different thread so I can't temporarily use these bolts. Is it safe to drive the car without the bolts holding the window to the regulator? Is there something I can rig up to keep the window up till I get the right bolts at the dealership?
Thanks in advance.

We fitted a small cardboard box inside the door and a lot of tape to keep the window up.

I know I could keep it up, but wanted to fix it. The crowbar was only used to pry the a little bit to get the assembly out. Honestly I didn't think the pulleys would come out with the window, but they did. I didn't pry too much cause I didn't want to mess up the outside of the door, or the inside of the door.
