Removing a turbo on 07 s
I would suggest putting the front bumper in "service mode" before attacking the turbo. It will give you more room to work with even if it's a couple of inches. I think it's well worth the hour it takes to do.
Other than that it's literally all in front of you with what needs to be removed. The last time I had my front end apart, it looks like the turbo is easier to take out as an entire assembly with the exhaust manifold. The bolts that mount the turbo on the manifold are practically inaccessible.

Having removed the turbo recently, i can see how this would be helpful. Seems like a lot of work to get it pulled away, but after cutting up my hands removing the turbo and other components around it, I would do this next time.
I've done work around the exhaust downpipe a couple of times and decided to put the front bumper in service mode this winter when I was working on my car. Holy cow, I didn't cuss one single time when working between the exhaust and radiator of the car
Why didn't I do this before?!?!?
