Stereo problem--USB not responding
My stereo is stuck on a song in the USB drive and I can't get it to skip to another song. It's not making any sound.
It was working fine yesterday. I turned the car off right at the end of the song so the next song would start when I started the car again. I was in the gym for about an hour, and when I started the car, it's just stick on that song. I can still switch inputs and the radio, CD player, and aux work though there is a long delay before they start playing. On USB mode, I can still navigate artists, songs, etc, but it won't change songs.
Last night after work I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, but that didn't help. The clock didn't even reset, so I figured it wasn't long enough. I left the battery disconnected overnight and pulled the fuses that looked like they were radio related as well as the USB fuse. I reconnected everything this morning but it's still stuck on that song.
The only thing I can think of at this point is to reformat the USB drive. The car still recognizes when there is no USB drive present, so maybe that will help.
Any other suggestions that I'm not thinking of? Anyone experience this before? I'll take it to the dealer if I have to, but I'd rather solve it myself if I can.

Just to document if anyone ever finds this thread in a search:
Last night I popped the thumb drive in my computer, and the only recently modified file was a hidden file called .fseventsd. I deleted that file and now it's unstuck. I'm just waiting for the car to index everything so I can navigate the drive again.
