Louder than normal fan plus light
Louder than normal fan plus light
When I got home last night from about 60mi drive I noticed my fan was on much much louder than normal once I turn the car off. I could even hear it in my bedroom above the garage. Car was driving fine with no issues. This morning it hesitated when starting but I thought nothing of it because I've head that maybe once or twice in the past. Then on my way to work this morning a check engine light came on inside the large speedo in the middle. No beep or sound or anything on the tach on the steering wheel. Stop at work and the fan again is on much louder than normal. I ran through the menus in the car with no indication of anything other than that light and the fan noise. Is this an indication the car is not cooling properly?

Have you gone in for Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) technical service bulletin (TSB) / repair?
Sounds like that's the culprit as the ECU is obtaining an erroneous signal thinking the engine is running hotter than it should, therefore turning on the fans.
Call you local dealer as you should be covered by the campaign AND your warranty period.

I'd eye ball my coolant level too
maybe you ARE running a little hot . . .
any decent auto part store should read the code causing the check engine light for free
