Gearbox noise 2005 5 speed

Just got my first mini 60 days ago (2005 standard 5 speed manual transmission)
The transmission used to sound normal, now it's making a noise whenever moving forward (in any gear). The noise doesn't sound like metal or grinding, but more subtle than that. My wife says the car sounds like a tractor :-)
No noise when at idle.
Shifting is normal.
Same noise when cold or warm.
Transmission fluid checked, looks good.
Everything runs fine, just noisy, and the noise seems to be getting louder over time.

Any thoughts on what this may be?
Thanks for the insight!

One more thing, I don't hear the noise when accelerating, only when at speed, coasting, or decelerating.

Any noise when you coast in neutral? Is the noise different in different gears, or does it change with speed?

The 2005 5 speed is a Getrag, not a Midlands.

Here's a video of the problem.
It definitely decreases when coasting in neutral or with the clutch engaged.

I just watched your youtube video, I hear your tires... If you say it's coming from the tranny, I believe you, but what I heard in the video sounds like tires.

Do you have cheap no name tires, or tires that are pretty worn, or even summer tires and it's cold out? That's what I heard, but can't explain why it eases off when in neutral.
