Difference between a 2003 & 2005 Cooper S power steering pump? Or Reman company...
Hey all, I have lost the power steering on my Wife's 2003 Mini Cooper S after 133k miles. I removed it and did the obligatory disassembly and cleaning in hopes that it would work for awhile longer...Xmas time is a crappy time to have something like this come up.
I have found a 2005 Cooper S at a local auto salvage that still has the p/s pump intact. The salvage lot cannot guarantee that it'll fit, but I have seen on searches that the 2002-2006's are all the same...Are they all the same or is there some bizarre application that could be different? They want half what a remanufactured one sells for and it's in "stock".
If not this, does anyone have any info on a reputable company that can reman my unit in a timely fashion?
Help!!!

My 2004 w/ 120K has an intermittent ps problem and I too am looking for a solution. I believe the 05 will fit your 03. As for remans, check www.bba-reman.com
All 2002-2006 power steering pumps are physically the same. The only difference was in 2005 they made the pump quieter.
You can no longer buy the older louder 02-04 pump so it doesn't matter.
Do not get a rebuilt pump, every one of them I installed has failed within 30 days so I won't use them.
Get a new pump we have them for $595.
I get these phone calls all the time and when you try to do it cheap you end up doing it twice.

They said if it doesn't work, they will refund my money... Guess I'll have to try it as it's only my labor and time. $600 is more than I can afford to spend right now... I'm thinkin' it's time to look into a different brand of car. This damn thing is nickle and diming me to death now that it broke the 100k mark. My Toyota is still running like a champ...?
Well, went to remove the 2005 pump at the salvage yard and the plastic end cap was busted so I passed. I ended up putting an "ARC" remanufactured pump in the car today, and it is working...how long is anybodies guess!?! The price was right though...$371 shipped with the core charge included.
I now have a rebuildable core if someone is interested, or I guess I can ship it back to Brooklyn, LOL.
