Thermostat Replacement "HOW TO"???
Thermostat Replacement "HOW TO"???
Hi, just wondering if there is any good "how to" on replacing the thermostat housing in my (r53) 2006 cooper s? Iv looked and can't seem to find a good one, and i am in desperate need
I usually use google to find posts on here, for some reason the forum search is not too good. This is the one I used a couple of weeks ago:

Pease keep reading that thread for at least 2 pages, there's some useful tips in there, so you won't have to take the ecu out for example.

It's quite simple. I used pelicanparts writeup.
-Remove the air box completely
-Remove Map sensor/bracket
-Remove 3 bolts on Theromostat housing
-Replace Thermostat/gasket
-Reassemble
I just did this recently, only problem I ran into was rusted Map sensor screws which needed to be drilled out
