CEL after my first oil change?

40 miles later and no CEL back. Maybe I just knocked a wire or something and the code won't come back...

Nope, the code came back. Oh well. Looks like it's a thermostat replacement for me!

Whoever said "this isn't too difficult a job" is out of their minds! I swear this is the engineers' idea of a joke. "Hey Bill, check this out! Look what I did with the thermostat!" "Oh man, that's hilarious. Good thing we never have to actually replace one of these ourselves!" *maniacal laughter*

Anyways, I got it done and I think I got it all hooked up right. No CELs and I think I got the coolant filled right so we shall see! If the CEL comes back on for P0128, I might kill someone...



PS: Whoever came up with those spring clamp things needs to die a horrible death.

So did changing out the thermostat solve your CEL?

Yeah. It solved the problem so it was just a coincidence and had nothing really to do with the oil change.
